Going into business is more about attitude than ideas. Successful business people can often turn their hand to other kinds of businesses at the drop of a hat. Look at Stelios of the Easy Group, Richard Branson of Virgin and many others. If you have the right mindset, the idea will come.
Innovation is NOT required. All the railroad companies that made American communications so great went bust, the people who made a success of the goldrush were not the gold prospectors, but the guys selling the shovels and picks. Unless you have huge funds and lots of time, don't innovate. Many companies are founded on simple, existing business models. You just need to work out why people should buy that product or service from you rather than the other guy. |

What is your hobby, or what is your job at the moment?
If you have a hobby or have great knowledge about a subject through your work, this is a great place to start. You have the advantage that you will only have to learn about running a business, not the product or service too.
If you are really lucky you may have some potential clients within your social or professional network already.
