Dits August 22, 2010 Sue Fantastic book. Good place to start as a trader. Would have been enhanced by a little more detail of charts, but nevertheless it gives you what you need.
Trading Shares August 2, 2010 Sean I have no financial background and no experience in trading shares. I have read a few related books that were recommended. This book has worked the best for me. It explains simply with humour what shares are and how to open a share account, strategies, where to gather research on companies to invest in and how to trade wisely, prevent losses and make profits. I have not finished but have already started trading successfully with the help of the book and a friend. What is working for me is read portions of the book and then putting that information into practice and this works like a bomb.
A brilliant read!!! July 27, 2010 Reviewer I bought this book after having read several books on investing in the stock market. I can safely and confidently say that this was most definitely the best book I have read on the subject matter. It's easy to understand, well written, and informative. Great for the novice, the intermediate, and the advanced student. Well done Robbie Burns for a great book. I highly recommend this book!
Great book July 8, 2010 Jimbow
This is the best book you can buy as a beginner this will give you the knowledge you need to start off
I think a second book would be a decent idea where more can be said on picking and analysis but great book
Worth every penny! July 1, 2010 shazza41 Having been itching to give trading a go I had been looking for a book that could get me started. I'm SO glad I found Robbie's book! It's funny, full of basic info that beginners really need and so readable I was actually sad when I'd got to the end! This is one book I will not be lending out. I will read it quite a few times....
This book explains the mechanics of share buying and selling, both online and over the phone. It very usefully gives hints on which websites are out there. The most interesting and useful information is on the choosing of shares - a whole new world for a beginner. Robbie is very candid about his own methods and writes in a straightforward manner about what he does to pick shares. Full of sensible warnings, without being offputting, this is exactly the information someone new to the market needs.
If I were buying again, I'd consider the updated version though, as major events in the last few years may have had an effect on share trading.
Can't rate this book highly enough.
